Weibo LAMP Evolution — Slides from My June Talk in Shanghai中文EN

I've shared this PPT before on Weipan (microdisk). Today it suddenly occurred to me, so I uploaded it to SlideShare — and while I'm at it, let me also leave a memento here on the blog.
This PPT covers the results of my work at Weibo over the past year, including changes to Yaf, and new things like Yar and Yac.
Through a series of efforts (the overall approach being: speed up first, cut costs, clarify the architecture, SOA), we reduced Weibo's homepage response time by more than half, while also lowering overall costs.
If you haven't seen this PPT before, take a look — many of the optimization techniques in it rely on tools that are already open source. If you're facing similar problems, you should be able to apply them quite easily.
